この映画も未見なのですが、この映画でサウンダリヤーはカルナーティク音楽の歌手で、ヒーローのパールティバンに密かに恋している役柄だそうです。

映画がヒットしなかった時でさえも、彼女はステレオ・タイプな役柄に縛られることを拒み続けた（＝新しい役柄にチャレンジし続けた）、と。
テルグ映画等での彼女は、本当にいろいろな役を演じていたようですね。
女優魂バリバリの方だったのでしょう。
